Cadences in Rhythm

Inspired from Pliny the young’s letters describing his summer and winter villa, this musician’s residency responds to its idyllic landscape with spaces of rest and retreat, laid out in mathematical proportions and order present in a waltz, with inhabitants moving through the spaces in rhythm.

Villas house musicians and have view sheds offering both near and distant tree line views from each residence. A multipurpose audio recording, practicing and performance facility is perched on a slope, facing a pond on the property.
